An innovative fusion of J.S. Bach’s timeless genius with 21st-century multimedia creativity.
Counterpoint Concerts is thrilled to launch its inaugural season with a truly unique performance of Bach to the Future on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center. This bold reimagining of Bach’s masterpieces features musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra and Counterpoint’s founder & pianist, Natalia Kazaryan, in collaboration with Grace Street Creative.
Bach to the Future reimagines Bach’s beloved masterpieces for both traditional and unconventional instrumentations, showcasing the everlasting magic of classical music through time. The program will feature Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 for a flute and string quintet with harpsichord, Chaconne in D minor transcribed for piano by Ferruccio Busoni, Air on the G String for string quartet, and works performed on electronic keyboard instruments, in a nod to Wendy Carlos’ groundbreaking recording “Switched On Bach.”
